Kim and Terry Pegulas’ $102 Million Campaign Gift Helps Penn State Surpass $2 Billion Goal

In 2010, Kim and Terrence “Terry” M. Pegula, a Penn State alumnus and owner of the Buffalo Sabres, announced a $88 million gift to the For the Future: The Campaign for Penn State Students. In 2012, the couple added $14 million to their original commitment to fund construction of the Pegula Ice Arena and to provide support for Penn State’s men’s and women’s hockey teams. The Pegulas’ $102 million donation is the largest gift to the Penn State capital campaign, which has raised $2.158 billion and will close on June 30, 2014.

“We will now see through the hard work of the Penn State family that our passion will be shared with the families and communities of the region surrounding Penn State. We expect that Penn State will become a destination, not just for top college players and coaches, but also for the growing base of hockey fans from across the Commonwealth and the country,” said Terry Pegula in a Penn State announcement.
